The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons

Tuesday, July 16, 2013:

There was an open house at the Minnesota Military Museum at Camp Ripley, about 20 miles south of Brainerd.

Roxanne Backowski was dressed as a U.S. Army Technical Sergeant.

She normally works in the library at Camp Ripley.

Doug T. from Melrose, Minnesota, dressed as a World War II U.S. Marine.

He really looks the part.

Above is an authentic Japanese battle flag signed by unit members in WWII.

Craig Johnson from Grey Eagle, Minnesota, was there as a U.S. Civil War Union Sergeant.

His Enfield rifle fires 58 caliber rounds.

The canteen he carried had the Masonic logo on it because some of the equipment used by soldiers, during the conflict, were donated by Masons.

Quote of the day:  Lots to learn in history.   Mark    < Back to previous story Ahead to next story >
