23, 2013: Lodge Photographer Mark was out photographing the
"super moon" that night. The moon was at its closest point to the earth at the time giving the best chance to seeing it clearly....thus the name super moon. He was using a Canon EOS T4i with a 250 mm lens, ISO 12,800, f7.1, 1/500th second. |
Great minds think in parallel
directions. Scott Schmeling from New Ulm, Minnesota, forwarded
this image of the moon that same night. Both were excellent showing meteor impact craters along the edge of the moon...especially on the right side. Scott was using a Nikon D90 with a Sigma 70 - 205mm lens and set at f 6.3, shutter speed 1/500th of a second, and an ISO of 400. This confirms it, the moon is not made of green cheese. Also you can't see a man on the moon! |
Quote of the day: A young couple was looking at the moon one night. She said, "Isn't it beautiful?" He said, "Yes, but you should have seen it before they walked on it!" Mark |
