Tuesday, May 14, 2013:
Mark visited the Bob Paquette Microphone Museum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Bob was in the U.S. Army Air Corp, now known as the U.S. Air Force, in World War II. He is an avid collector of microphones from around the world. The museum includes over 1000 vintage microphones. See Bob on YouTube. |
|
Mark liked the lit display of microphones he remembers from his earliest days in radio broadcasting. |
Then it was off to visit
fellow radio broadcast engineer
Chris Tarr at
WYMS Radio.
Chris is also seen as a regular on TWiRT (This Week in Radio-Tech) TV on the Internet. Mark was interviewed there at least three times. |
|
Chris showed Mark and Jim Zastrow (on the right), around the new
studios, which were in the early part of construction. It is a huge project, but Chris says he is up to the task. |
Later, Jim, Chris, and
Mark went to dinner at the
Safe House
Restaurant in downtown Milwaukee. Known as the "spy restaurant," it is a fun place to go. Mark and Paula were there a year before and had a good time. |

Quote of the day: Milwaukee is a fun place. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
