Saturday, May 4, 2013: Mark and Paula saw the Lee A Tregurtha come under the Aerial Bridge into the Duluth shipping port. Launched in during World War II in 1942, she is a tanker with a 29,360 ton capacity. Her 826 feet length is driven by an 8000 horsepower diesel engine.
Fishermen were busy tending their nets while seagulls were looking for breakfast.
Ducks were on sidewalks downtown looking for food
handouts. They are not afraid of humans either. |
|
Paula and Mark had lunch
at the
Anchor Bar in Superior, Wisconsin, with long time friend
Bill Meys (back middle).
Bill is a mostly retired radio broadcast engineer and lives in Superior. He and Mark worked on many radio broadcast transmitters over the years. Always good to see him. |
Quote of the day: Duluth and Superior are fun places to visit. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
