The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons

Friday September 19, 2014:
Friend Jean Schaeffer and Paula put kayaks into the Mississippi River at a boat landing near Evergreen Cemetery in north Brainerd.
The set off about 2 PM.

Twenty minutes later they were spotted heading under the Laurel Street bridge in Brainerd.

Three and one half hours after starting, they arrived at Crow Wing State Park.

It was a somewhat exhausted high-five when they cam ashore.

Their paddles were none the worse for the wear.  We can't say the same for the ladies.
Then it was off to the Fort Restaurant for beer and dinner.  It is about 15 miles south of Brainerd on Highway 371.
Actually Mark and Dave Schaeffer were soaking up some suds in the afternoon while waiting for the ladies.

Plenty of food at this place.  Ribs were the special that night.  A good choice for hungry kayakers.

Jean is always a barrel of laughs and Dave just goes along with it.  A fun couple to be around.

Quote of the day:  A fun time was had by all.   Mark < Back to previous story Ahead to next story >
