         The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons
Wednesday, April 9, 2014: 
Mark and Paula attended the annual Technology Luncheon at the National association of Broadcasters' convention in Las Vegas.  The speaker was Bas Lansdorp who is Co-Founder and Chief Executive officer of Mars One.  In case you haven't heard of this venture, it is a mission to send humans to the planet Mars.  The catch is that it is a one-way trip.  This is no joke.  Going to Mars is difficult enough, but the technology to return to Earth is just not there yet.  Mars One is enlisting just the right volunteers who are willing to leave Earth with no hope of return.  Instead, they will live out their lives as Martians starting in the year 2025. 

You will be hearing more about this.  Very interesting.     

 
Mark and Paula's brains needed a rest after the talk about Mars One.

They headed to the Flamingo Hotel to sit by a babbling brook while contemplating the future.

 
 
These ducks were not perturbed about it all.

They were happy to look for food and live a good life.
 
Even this unusual bird wasn't worrying about anything.

It was, however, looking at a huge gold fish in the water.
 
Then, there it was, over the hotel sign....the moon begging for someone to visit again.
Story of the day:  Two young people were looking up at the moon one night.  She said, "Isn't it beautiful?"  He said, "Yes, but you should have seen it before they walked on it!"
