Local contractors are on Gilbert Lake today cutting and removing large chunks of
ice, which will be stored and used in the summer to cool tourist cabins and
beverages.
Just seven miles away,
workers
are starting to drill holes in Gull Lake ice so hot water can be pumped in.
Officials hope that will melt lake ice in time for the annual Minnesota
Governor's fishing opener at Grand View Lodge.
In other news, a cow has
jumped over the moon. The world's first rocket-powered bovine space flight
was successful. NASA announced today that is has plans to start lunar
cheese production by the end of the year. |
