The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons

Saturday, March 15, 2014:

Paula and Mark dined with friends Judy Wrightman and Kurt Hanson.

It was corned beef and cabbage for Paula while Mark chose Irish stew.

Yes, it was St. Patrick's Day in Crosslake, Minnesota.

Leading the parade was a car that could have come from The Andy Griffith Show.

Military color guards came through and were applauded.
A stagecoach arrived in time for the parade.

Four horses on that one.

Everyone wanted to get in on the act.

Even gorillas.

A vintage John Deere tractor.

Question: What did the plow say to the tractor?

Answer: Pull me closer John Deere.

Plenty of candy for everyone...especially those with a green beard.
Everyone wants to be Irish on this day.
Mayor Darrell Schneider and his wife Colleen were there too.

Gosh, she must be Irish with a name like Colleen!

Now there's a man with a pot of gold.

A leprechaun me thinks.

Irish come in all sizes.

They liked to be kissed on St. Patrick's Day too.

You can never wear too much green....especially on St. Patrick's Day.
Red hair, green, and gold....now that is Irish.
Another leprechaun.

They're everywhere!

This one teaches fishing.

Now there is a way to get candy along the parade route.

Smart guy!

Moonlight Bay must be quite a place with a float like this.

No end to fun that day.

Even the Scottish wanted to get in on the act with bagpipe and drum.

Do they ever get cold when the temperature is below freezing?

Quote of the day:  Always fun to see a St. Patrick's Day parade.   Mark    < Back to previous story Ahead to next story >
