24, 2013: Mark "Paul Bunyan lumberjack" Persons was out cutting up a 63-foot three which had fallen in a recent brisk wind. This popple, otherwise known as an American Aspen, took several smaller trees with it. Plenty of cutting and cleanup to do. |
|
Then it was off to the wood
splitting area where Paula showed off just half of what needed to be
dealt with. |
|
Mark, the wood chopper, was seen with a splitter making the trees
into firewood. Good heavy exercise. Mark was seen wearing the top part of one of his old U.S. Army fatigue uniforms. He can still just barely fit into it after 35 years and 30 extra pounds. |
|
Wood stacker Paula paused for a
photo while putting the wood up for the winter. More good exercise. The wood should burn well in the Grand Fireplace at the Lodge this winter. |
Quote of the day: The fire will burn well in the upcoming cold months. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
