The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons

Monday, June 17, 2013:

(l-r) Paul and Teresa Hirst, then Paula and Mark at the Ginger Hop Restaurant on Hennepin Avenue on the east side of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis.

Wonderful Tai food.

Mark even had to get reacquainted with chop sticks.

Not bad once you know how to use them, he said.

Then it was off to the Target Center on the west side of the river in Minneapolis.

Paul and Teresa treated Mark and Paula to tickets to see and hear the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.  They were called America's Choir by President Ronald Reagan.

Some 310 singers and 65 orchestra members, brought in on 11 busses and four semi-trailer trucks, played a two-hour concert.
The music was exceptionally well done with a variety of numbers including the Battle Hymn of the Republic, their signature song.
Mark commented that the music did not need to be LOUD to be good.  Yes, it was loud, but not like a rock concert.  This was BETTER!
There were three standing ovations by an almost sell-out crowd.  Awe Inspiring.  Lead on!
Walking back that night, the music was dancing through their heads as the Minneapolis skyline applauded the performance.

Quote of the day:  The Mormon Tabernacle Choir is an experience to remember for a lifetime.   Mark    < Back to previous story Ahead to next story >
