 March 1, 2025: Sunrise over Lake Superior at Grand Marais, MN.  Ducks were near the shore enjoying it too.  The lighthouse at Grand Marais, as seen later in the day. The bay was still frozen over.   Lake Superior does not freeze over in the winter, but there was plenty ice along the shore that day.  Then Paula went out exploring trails at the Cascade River State Park.  They came upon this waterfall, which was still flowing in freezing temperatures.  Grand Marais is built on a hill overlooking the lake, like many other towns along Lake Superior.  The area received almost two feet of snow in past weeks and it piled high in many areas.  Mark discovered a license plate that he should have for his car!
