![]() Thursday, September 4, 2025: Southwestern Minnesota is dotted with wind generators making power. ![]() ![]() Mark and Paula headed to the Pipestone National Monument where peace pipes are made by Indigenous people. ![]() ![]() There is an interpretive center where everyone can see pipes being made and ask questions. ![]() ![]() ![]() Then it was outside to see the area. ![]() ![]() ![]() Paula found some stone that looked good for making peace pipes. ![]() They came upon a woman using hand tools to quary stone. Hard work, but it is a way of life for those preserving the heritage of the site. ![]() In the end, the stone will be sued to make peace pipes. ![]() ![]() Back at the center, there was a colorful man in a hat and bandana. ![]() Visitors were tracing history in the state. ![]() |
