![]() Friday, August 14, 2025: Mark and Paula visited the Forest History Center at Grand Rapids, MN. ![]() ![]() Tour guides told stories from the logging days of the early 1900s. ![]() Horses were the "horsepower" to get logs moved in that era. ![]() The horses are friendly and love to be petted. ![]() Loggers used long handles with hooks to roll logs up to log rails near a log sled. ![]() Then the logs were pulled to the top of the pile by horses on the other side. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Not just tour guides, these people are reenactors teaching the history of logging camps. ![]() A bunkhouse where the loggers slept. |
