Tuesday, July 15, 2025:
Along I-90 at Murdo, South Dakota. Whoa! Let's stop at the 1880 Town.

It started as a movie set and is now a tourist attraction depicting the American west in the 1880s.

Mark remembers desks like that in grade school.

The local bank.

The livery stable.

This young lad was there with his six-shooter.

A windmill pumped water for the cattle and town.

Paula is an animal person so she petted on the horses.

This long-horn had a long tongue.

Yes, and there was Doctor Goode's Tonic to cure whatever troubles you.

The saloon was well done. As in the old west, "don't shoot the piano player," they are hard to come by.

Quote of the day:    Talk about living in a different era.  Mark < Back to previous story Ahead to next story>
